MEET THE COACHING STAFF

 


Varsity Coach

 

Momi Bowles - Momi Bowles begins her fourth season as the Head Volleyball Coach at Auburn Mountainview High School. She also teaches Physical Education and Health. Prior to coming to Mountainview, she spent three years as Teacher and Head Volleyball Coach at Kent-Meridian High School in Kent, Washington. Prior to that, she taught for 10 years in Spokane, Washington at North Central High School. In addition to teaching she also spent time coaching basketball and softball and was the Head Volleyball Coach for three seasons. In High School, Bowles helped lead A.J. Dimond High School to the Alaska 4A State Championship in 1987. She then went on to earn a volleyball scholarship at Gonzaga University. During her career at GU, she captained the 20th ranked Bulldogs to their first ever trip to the Division I NCAA Tournament and earned West Coast Conference Honors. Upon graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Health, Bowles served on the Gonzaga Coaching staff for two years as a second assistant. She has since earned her Master's Degree in Educational Technology. During her summers, Momi has been the Co-director at Gonzaga
University's Summer Volleyball Camp for the last 11 years.

Assistant Varsity Coach

 

Anne Fisher – Anne begins her third year coaching at Mountainview High School. This year she will once again assist Coach Bowles with the varsity team. Anne has taught elementary Physical Education in the Auburn School district for 28 years, and is currently teaching at Hazelwood Elementary, where she has been since the school’s opening in 1990. Anne earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and Health from Western Washington University where she played on the Varsity Volleyball team for four years. She also spent her off season time playing on many club teams, and continued to do so after she graduated. She has been coaching volleyball and basketball at the elementary level for 28 years. Last spring, Anne co-coached the 7th grade volleyball team at Rainier Middle School. Anne is also an assistant Curriculum Director for Camp Auburn, the 5th grade elementary outdoor education program.

 

Junior Varsity Coach

Devan Sweeney – Devan begins her second year with Mountianview this year as the Junior Varsity coach. Devan is currently teaching third grade at Lea Hill Elementary, and will begin her seventh year there this fall. Devan attended Green River Community College where she played volleyball. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Central Washington University. She also has a Master’s Degree in Literacy from Lesley University. Devan has played and coached at the club level for several years. In her free time, Devan likes to play volleyball, shop, and travel and spend time with friends and family.
 

Lisa Schaeffer – Lisa begins her second year with Mountainview as the varsity assistant. Lisa just graduated from Oregon State University a year ago with a business administration degree in marketing. She has been an assistant coach during the last four summers for Mountainview and is looking forward to returning for another season. In her free time, Lisa enjoys skiing, watching sports, and spending time with friends and family.

     

Volunteer

 

Kelly Kim - Kelly will be a volunteer at Auburn Mountainview this fall. She has been hired on as a teacher at Tahoma High School and hopes to have the time to continue to work with our program. Kelly spent two years at Kent-Meridian High School as the Freshman and C-Team coach with Coach Bowles. Kelly is a '96 graduate from Kentridge High School. After high school she attended Pierce College in Lakewood and played on their volleyball team which was ranked 14th in the Nation. After receiving her AA, she moved to Hawaii, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Communications with an English minor from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. During college she gained coaching experience with Club Wahine Volleyball Club here in Washington as well as with the Oahu Volleyball Club in Hawaii. In her free time, Kelly enjoys playing volleyball and tennis as well as reading and watching movies. Kelly recently earned her Masters Degree in Teaching, and is starting a new job teaching special education reading and writing, at Kent Meridian High School this year. She also still works part-time at Ikea. Kelly is looking forward to her first year of teaching, and continuing to be a part of the Mountainview volleyball coaching staff.
